Gameplay Refinements and Core System Enhancements

Today, significant progress was made in refining the game mechanics and overall functionality:
- Player Animation Fixed: The player animation issue was resolved, ensuring smooth and consistent movements. There remains a minor issue where arrows sporadically disappear when fired towards the west, which will require further investigation.
- Exit Door and Key Interaction: The exit door and exit key mechanics have been successfully implemented and are functioning as intended, allowing players to unlock the exit door only with the appropriate key.
- Enemy Damage Behaviour Adjustments: Continued fine-tuning of the enemy/ghost damage system to improve gameplay balance and difficulty progression. This included adjusting health parameters and state transitions for both white and red states.
Next Steps:
- Address Arrow Disappearance Bug: Investigate and resolve the issue with arrows disappearing when fired in the west direction.
- Enhance Enemy Behaviour: Adjust the enemy red state behaviour to reduce the delay before they become vulnerable to damage, ensuring a consistent challenge level.
- Polish and Optimise: Continue refining gameplay elements and optimising existing systems to improve the overall game experience.
- Expand Inventory System: Finalise and integrate the comprehensive inventory system to manage player items and abilities effectively.
- Develop Main Menu and UI: Implement the main menu for player selection and other features, as well as additional UI elements like a pause menu and exit feature.
- Level Design: Restructure the first level and begin drafting the second level to enhance game flow and progression.
The focus moving forward is on addressing the remaining bugs, enhancing game mechanics, and continuing the development of essential game features.
